Country to Canberra’s 2016 Leadership Competition is bigger than ever before. At least 10 young women will win an amazing, all-expenses paid ‘Power Trip’ prize to Canberra to meet inspiring politicians and CEOs, attend exclusive events, tour Parliament, and excitingly, receive an entire day of leadership and public speaking training from organisations like TEDxCanberra! Winners also score online mentorship sessions and access to our alumni network. More about the prize can be found here.
Plus, the top 25 entires will be published on our website to showcase our finalists’ talents on a national scale.
How to enter?
Just submit a 2-minute video or podcast, or a 400-word essay, blog post or story addressing the following question:
Why is gender equality important to you and your community?
Entries must be submitted via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 11.00 pm AEST 9 September 2016 . Whether submitting a video, podcast, or written entry, you need to use and submit using this Leadership Competition Entry Template. Download here!
The competition opens on 27 July 2016 and closes at 11.00 pm AEST 9 September 2016.
Who can enter?
To win the Power Trip prize, entrants must be:
- Female students who are attending school in grades 10, 11 or 12 in 2016.
- Be 15 years of age by 20 November 2016.
- Attend a school that is located at least 50 kilometres away from a town with a population 80,000 persons or more.
- For example, if you attend school in Alice Springs, NT (population 28,000) you’re eligible to enter. If you attend school 30 kilometres out of Newcastle, NSW (population 300,000) then you are ineligible to enter.
