Announcing our 2017 Leadership Competition Winners! #C2CGirlsLead

We were thrilled to unveil FOURTEEN winners of Country to Canberra’s 2017 Leadership Competition – more champions than ever before! The 2017 winners are an exciting group of young female rural leaders, who submitted passionate videos, stories and ideas about how to create pathways to power for women. The winners were:

SA: Vanessa Vu of Renmark Eliza Nelligan of Port Lincoln.

NSW: Rose Denovan of Bathurst Eve Currie of Bathurst.

NT: Lara Stimpson of Nhulunbuy (Gove) + Shanae Klaas of Katherine.

VIC: Isabella Thomas of Daylesford Rachelle Dowling of Yarragon + Taylor Kelsey-Shueard of Hamilton.

QLD: Merin Ward of Gladstone.

TAS: Georgia Stonehouse of Wynyard + Eleanor McCormack of Ulverstone.

WA: Navyaa Shukla of Karratha + Amy Astill of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

The winners have won an all-expenses paid ‘Power Trip’ in December 2017 to Canberra to meet Ministers & CEOs, attend a Powerful Women’s Breakfast, tour Parliament, receive leadership and public speaking, mentorship and much more.

We were also delighted to unveil the Top 40 finalists, published below.

Thank you to everyone who entered the competition. We received the highest number of entries EVER, and all of the submissions were of phenomenal quality, making the selection process incredibly tough. It truly left us inspired by the future generation of young female rural leaders! If you weren’t successful – we encourage you to enter in 2018 and to stay in touch, as we have multiple opportunities arising, from our Blogger Team to our Project Empower workshops.
