Lily Harrison - Project Empower Officer

Lily is smiling she has long brown dark hair
Lily is passionate about gender equality and empowerment. Having grown up in regional Northern New South Wales, this passion is focused on equity of opportunity to pursue education and access to safe menstrual and reproductive health for girls and women living in regional, rural, Indigenous, and marginalised communities.

Lily understands the complex barriers for girls living outside of urban centres and so spends her time dancing in-between volunteering, public speaking, and managing her own community initiative and volunteer team. Joining the Country to Canberra team in 2020, Lily continues to be excited about designing and facilitating programs that help other young women learn skills in leadership and empower them to drive positive change in their own communities.

In 2021, Lily moved to Canberra to study Public Policy and International Relations in order to learn more about how to continue supporting and leading projects that matter. Being in Canberra, she is more driven than ever to bring opportunities back into our regional and remote communities and ensure all young women can be heard and involved in influencing policy issues that affect them.

In her spare time, you can probably find Lily reading, drinking bubble tea, or in an op-shop.
