EMPOWERING YOUNG RURAL WOMEN
2026 LEADERSHIP COMPETITION
The Country to Canberra Leadership Competition is a prestigious annual competition empowering young rural, regional and remote women and non-binary people in Years 10–12 to share their ideas for the future of Australia.
This year’s competition asks:
“What does the future of health look like for you, your family and your community?”
Participants are invited to respond creatively to this theme through a written response, artwork, video, speech, pitch or other creative format that reflects their lived experience, ideas and leadership potential.
Winners will receive an all-expenses-paid ‘Power Trip’ to Canberra, where they will meet inspiring politicians, CEOs and changemakers, receive leadership and public speaking training, tour Parliament House, connect with mentors, have their work published and join a growing network of young rural leaders creating change in their communities. In 2018 we drove 32,000km to reach 3,500 girls. In 2021 and 2022, we travelled to every state and territory to deliver 14 workshops.
