Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I joined Country to Canberra to fulfil my aspiration of becoming a youth advocate and representing my community. This organisation aligns with my passion for addressing rural issues and empowers me to amplify the voices of young people in remote areas, fostering positive change in their lives.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
On the Power Trip, I aim to hone my leadership skills, connect with like-minded youth advocates, and gain insights into effective advocacy strategies. Ultimately, I want to leverage this experience to create a more significant impact as a voice for my community and empower rural youth in meaningful ways.
Who is your role model and why?
My role isn’t embodied by a single individual; it’s a collective effort, comprised of a diverse array of people each contributing unique qualities. These qualities, ranging from confidence to persistence and more, synergize to create a strong, dynamic team, capable of achieving our shared goals effectively and inclusively.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
I love the rural Australian community for its tight-knit bonds, resilience, and unwavering support. The genuine connections, natural beauty, and shared values foster a sense of belonging that’s truly unique. It’s a place where people come together to make a difference, and I cherish being part of this extraordinary community.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My primary goal is to champion rural youth by studying criminology and criminal justice. Through this field, I aspire to combat youth crime and develop innovative solutions. My passion lies in creating initiatives that empower young people and address the unique challenges they face in rural communities.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
In my spare time, I love learning new languages or immersing myself in new cultures. I am able to become more aware and inclusive.
