Mylee Taylor | 16 Years | Boorowa Central School | Boorowa, New South Wales
Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I entered the competition as I think it is important in a rural setting, to embrace all opportunities presented to you, as you never know where they may lead. I decided this year to challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone in hope to further grow as a person.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
Coming from a small school I hope to gain exposure to other ideas, views and opinions to broaden my understanding of the world around me. As well as gain further leadership skills to help empower myself and others whilst exploring further pathways with professional experts.
Who is your role model and why?
In my artwork I depicted Karen Webb as my role model. This is because seeing her inauguration on my first day of year 7 highlighted the endless possibilities available and inspired me to be brave enough to achieve my potential.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in rural Australia is being able to feel connected to a close community as well as having open spaces to enjoy with my animals, friends and family.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My main goal right now is to successfully complete and enjoy year eleven and twelve by taking on any opportunities available and exploring all the possible pathways for my future.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
To relax and have fun I usually go for a ride on my horse, paint, or take my dog for a walk. I especially like to do these things in the early morning or late evening as I enjoy taking photos of the sunrises and sunsets.
