Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I was inspired to make a change and represent myself as a young leader living in rural Australia. It was amazing to see the extensive representation Country to Canberra provided for young women, it was simply an opportunity I couldn’t pass.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
I am keen to hopefully broaden my skill set in public speaking and leadership assets. I hope to meet other young individuals like myself and make life-long friendships and experiences.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my Nan, Leanne, she is a fun-loving, empathetic, strong and understanding woman. Building the family of four daughters created an environment where women were encouraged to make a name for themselves. She is my best friend and I aspire to be like her daily.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in rural Australia is the tight knit communities built on love and dedication from volunteers and families, creating communities that prosper for generations.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My current ambition is to inspire other young leaders in my community to utilise their voices and make themselves heard. Long term, I hope to continue to represent my local community, providing a known voice and fresh ideas.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
In my down time I’ll often be found chewing into a book or binging a new crime series. I use the time that I have to bond with my little siblings and we often spend our time colouring or singing.
