Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I entered the Country to Canberra Leadership competition after one of my teachers recommended it in assembly. I read up on what this competition has to offer and I believe that it is a great way to broaden my leadership skills. Along with connecting with people who share the same interests as me.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
I hope to learn a new skill set of leadership skills that I can use in my everyday life and be able to share with other young people in the community.
Who is your role model and why?
I chose Magnolia Maymuru as my role model as I believe that she is an extremely Inspiring person for all people to look up to. She has achieved so much living in Nhulunbuy and inspires me to reach out for my dreams too, which I believe everyone should be striving to do.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite part about living in rural Australia is the great outdoor activities. I also love how everyone in the community knows each other, as you can always rely on someone if you need anything.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My ambition currently is to get a high ATAR when I finish school. This ensures I have a huge range of career options to choose from. On my way to getting a high ATAR, I want to involve myself in leadership, such as SRC, school captain, and Country to Canberra, ultimately helping me in future career pathways and life skills.
