Why did you enter Country to Canberra's Leadership Competition?
I first discovered the Leadership Competition after it was recommended to me by one of my teachers. From there, I did more research and found that my values aligned with Country to Canberra, and I knew that this experience could be greatly beneficial to me.
What do you hope to get out of C2C on Screen?
I’m excited to meet the other winners and gain knowledge from their experiences and perspectives. I would also really like to gain more skills in public speaking and gain knowledge that will help me become more involved in my local community.
Who is your role model and why?
There are so many incredible women in my life, who are consistently supportive and inspiring by the way they contribute to their communities, that it would be difficult to pick just one. Particularly at my school, I have many teachers that encourage me to be the best version of myself.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in rural Australia would have to be the quietness. I like that I can go for a walk and only hear birds chirping or the wind moving through the trees rather than the hustle-and-bustle of living in the city.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
As of right now, I have a keen interest in STEM subjects and would like to pursue a career in this field. I have always been passionate about maths and science, and I feel that working in STEM would be a perfect fit for me. I am also passionate about supporting gender equality and would like to be an advocate for more women in STEM.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
During my free time, I really enjoy being as creative as possible. I love to read, paint, draw and listen to music whenever I can. I also really enjoy hanging out with friends and spending time with my family.
