Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I have always been very passionate about gender equality, especially when it comes to women working in male-dominated industries, such as politics. I knew entering in this competition that it would help build on my confidence, and bring me a new experience that I hadn’t seen coming.

What do you hope to get out of C2C on Screen?
I’m hoping to learn a little more about gender equality issues, and become more aware of things I can do to prevent them. I’m also excited to meet new friends and to see everybody before our trip next year!

Who is your role model and why?
My role model is constantly changing, simply because there’s so many influential girls and women out there. Someone who has always been my role model would definitely be my mum, because of her ongoing strength and her beautiful personality.

What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
I’ve always been appreciative of living in a rural area, I love the strong community connections. It’s also great when you go to the supermarket because it’s like a random draw of which friend you’re going to bump into for a quick catch up.

What’s your favourite quote?
“You can’t make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen.” Michelle Obama

What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My life goal is to be a successful lawyer, working in employment or family law. This all occurs after completing University, which is also a big goal I have that I am determined to achieve. I’m also aiming to get the English award at the end of this year.

Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
I love to play netball with my friends on Saturdays, and I also enjoy art whether it be painting or drawing. I also love to read, I’m currently reading “Women and Leadership” by Julia Gillard and Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, which I thought was perfect timing.

What are your social media handles?
