Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I entered Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition because I felt it was an amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity. I’ve always had a keen interest in politics and government, and I think the focus on rural and regional women was so special.
What do you hope to get out of C2C on Screen?
What I hope to get out of C2C on Screen is new connections with likeminded people. I could not be more grateful to have the opportunity to meet people with a similar passion for gender equality, who come from rural or regional Australia, just as I do.
Who is your role model and why?
I take inspiration from and look up to so many people for so many different reasons, but someone who has inspired me recently is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Representative for New York’s 14th Congressional District. She is such a powerful female figure who has remained so admirable in such a tough time.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in rural Australia is the open spaces. Especially this year while in lockdown, I’ve developed a new appreciation for my ability to walk out the back gate for as far as I want, and not see anyone else.
What’s your favourite quote?
If you’re happy doing what you’re doing, then no one can tell you you’re unsuccessful”- Harry Styles.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
Although I am slightly unsure of exactly what I want to do, I think my main goal for the future is to simply make a difference, as terribly general as that is. To know that what I’m doing is truly important is my dream.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
I love to sing and I’ve started to learn to play guitar, but I think the thing that relaxes me the most is putting something on my record player and simply listening.
