Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
When I entered the competition, I was not expecting to be a winner. However, I was optimistic about the opportunity to bring focus within my community to a topic that is particularly important during such trying times.
What do you hope to get out of C2C on Screen?
I hope to become empowered and gain crucial skills to empower others in my community. Equipped with these skills, I will hopefully become more resilient to obstacles, be a more active member of society, and be driven to influence positive social change.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is Emma Watson. From a young age, I have seen her eloquence about what she believes in, shine on a global stage. She is an advocate for gender equality, and has juggled fame and the real world to become an inspiring figure through her passion and determination.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
Being close to nature and the tranquillity this offers. You are able to go outside and surround yourself with a calming and relaxing natural environment. It is vastly different to the hustle of city life.
What’s your favourite quote?
“Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticised anyway” – Eleanor Roosevelt
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My current goal is to excel in my last years at high school and then study at university to pursue a science/medical or engineering career. Although my ambitions are constantly changing, I want to help others and make a plausible difference in the world. I also wish to be a leader in the future, whether in the workplace or community, so I can educate, support and empower other women.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
I am an avid runner, but on the contrary, also love to relax by watching movies. I have a passion for all things creative, and spend most of my free time painting, cooking and then eating the food!
