Why did you enter Country to Canberra's Leadership Competition?
I entered the Country to Canberra Leadership Competition to develop leadership skills that will enable me to be a change agent in the regional community I reside in. It allowed me the opportunity to express my view of how rural women contribute as entrepreneurs economically, socially, and politically.
What do you hope to get out of C2C on Screen?
I hope to become inspired, empowered and obtain pivotal skills to enable others in my community. Accrued with these skills, I will feasibly become more resilient to obstacles, become a more effective member of society, develop leadership skills, build networks with like-minded individuals and be aspired to advocate and influence positive social change within my region.
Who is your role model and why?
Role models are like a lamp of gleam that inspires and guides in the dark. That lamp of radiance is my mom. She has offered me a myriad of opportunities, but the most impactful trait is self-belief to aspire for success in whatever form that may be, always instilling her favourite moto, “aim for the moon, because if you fall, you fall amongst the stars”. My mom is my role model because she has unquestionably handed me a golden ticket for my future by ensuring I receive the best education opportunities available.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
The most treasured aspect is the bucolic setting I encounter daily. The picturesque landscapes allow me the opportunity to reconnect with nature and create memorable experiences. Rural towns offer a greater sense of community and being more connected with the people impacts positively on mental health and wellbeing.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My contemporary goal is gaining the best possible outcome in obtaining entry into tertiary education and pursuing a science/medical career. I have a passion to use my skills to uplift and positively contribute to the healthcare needs of the community I live in. I aspire to become a leader in the mere future, inspiring and empowering more women to reach their full potential.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
My refined sensitivity toward the beauties of art, nature, music, and poetry, allows me a source of relaxation from the demanding aspects of life and subdue me into exuberance. I also find pleasure in socializing with like-minded people or taking strolls through the panoramic countryside with my family.
