My name is Lilyan Tyson. I’m an 18 year old high school student from a town in New South Wales that has approximately 12,500 people as of the last census. Although there isn’t anything iconic about the small town of Goonellabah, it is a suburb of Lismore, which is quite possibly one of the best country towns to grow up in if you’re queer, which is great for me as I identify as a gay woman. Above that, I’m family-orientated and close with both my parents due to the lack of siblings. More importantly, I am a woman. One who is surrounded by powerful, inspirational women who will change this world for the better.
