Milly Mcgrath - Winner 2023
Year 10 | 16 Years | MacKillop College Port Macquarie | Port Macquarie, New South Wales
Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I heard about this incredible opportunity through my school, and I knew I wanted to be involved in a program that empowers rural women across the country. I am so excited to work with some incredible girls in this program, and I am sure they will inspire me even more.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
I would really like to connect with some like-minded women and be inspired by their successes. I would love to make some incredible friends throughout the program and learn how I can improve my own leadership skills in my everyday life.
Who is your role model and why?
I don’t have one single role model but so many in my life. My biggest role models are my family, especially my three sisters. They are so supportive, intelligent and creative and they always push me to be better, while achieving so much themselves!
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
I love having space to do the things I love, and the communities in rural areas are so supportive and connected.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My main goal is to take every opportunity I can to make my life – and the lives of those around me – as amazing as they can be!
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
My favourite things to do are read – I will read absolutely anything – and draw. I also love spending time with my family and friends.
