How old are you, what grade are you in and what community/town do you live in?
I am fifteen years old and I am in year 10. I live in Parndana, Kangaroo Island.
Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I entered the Country to Canberra leadership competition because I come from a small community with very little cultural diversity and I believe it is a massive opportunity to broaden this understanding of diversity and leadership opportunities.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip to Canberra?
From the Power Trip, I hope to bring back new skills to my community and inspire other girls to reach beyond what the island can offer.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is a community member, a woman who has inspired me since a young age. She is a person who gives selflessly not only to the younger generation but to the whole community and she encourages young people to strive farther than they believe they can do.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in rural Australia is having a tight knit community that supports all its members through their successes and hardships. I also love having all the luxuries involved with living on a farm like space, refreshing air and freedom.
What’s your favourite quote?
“The harder you work for something, the greater you’ll feel when you achieve it.”
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
My main ambition is to be an inspirational figure of the community who is kind, motivated and willing to help others through endeavours.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
When I need to relax or have fun I find myself stuck in the pages of a book or outside on the farm exploring and breathing in the fresh air riding my horse.
