Year 11 | 17 Years | Goulburn Valley Grammar School | Tatura East, Victoria

Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?

I entered the competition because I am interested in politics, commerce and law. Country to Canberra sounded like an amazing way to learn about and meet a variety of inspiring and influential women.

What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?

I hope I have the opportunity to learn, network, and meet like-minded individuals. As well as this, I hope to develop my leadership skills.

Who is your role model and why?

I have many role models, including Jacinda Ardern, Emma Watson and Annabel Crabb, who have with their achievements, continue to inspire and motivate the next generation of young women. I also look up to the female teachers in my school community – who have taught me so much over the years.

What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?

I love being part of such a tight knit community, and building relationships with people over the years. Also, it is incredible to see the way that the community comes together, especially during the floods last year.

What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?

In my future, I hope to study law and commerce/global politics – I love these subjects, as they allow me to deepen my knowledge of the world, how democracies are run and understand different ethical, philosophical, and moral problems.

Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?

I love to read, learn, play, and listen to podcasts. I also love spending time with friends and family.
