Hannah Muchamore - Winner 2023

Year 11 | 17 Years | Nagle Catholic College | Geraldton, Western Australia

Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?

I entered C2C’s Leadership Competition out of a passion for curiosity. Curiosity to meet incredible young people from across regional Australia, curiosity as to my potential as a leader, and the curiosity to walk in a world saturated with leaders, and learn everything I can from it.

What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?

I hope to discover more about who I am as a leader and a young person. I want to embrace every opportunity and challenge given to me, and discover more about what I stand for in the process.

Who is your role model and why?

My mum. She’s the strongest, most brilliantly humoured woman I know, and has given me the passion and stubbornness to pursue my dreams through her example.

What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?

The people. While not everyone knows each other, the friendliness, sense of community and compassion towards others is something I miss in the city, and makes me glad to be a country kid.

What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?

To live in the moment and make the most out of every opportunity. When you’re taking every chance, be it aiming for a high ATAR or developing your leadership and communication skills, you can’t go wrong. As long as you’re pushing forward, you’re doing it right.

Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?

I have the most fun with my amazing group of girls, and love hanging out with my family and friends, playing touch rugby and spending time with my pets. I also love biology and hiking along the river, as well as reading and writing!
