Year 10 | 15 Years | Cunderdin District High School | Cunderdin, Western Australia
Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I thought it would be a good opportunity to bring attention to the issues affecting rural youth in Australia. I wanted to show others that we are important to our communities and to our country.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip?
I want to find out more about how to be a great leader as well as being able to be a voice for my community and my peers. I want to gain the skills to assist the youth in rural communities.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my mum because she is an amazing person, she has a kind heart, and she is the best mum ever. I want to be like her when I am older, she is a teacher and I want to have the passion of teaching children like she does.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
I love the freedom and security of living in rural Australia. The community, where everyone knows each other and becomes a village. Where we build and support each other to become who we are.
What’s your main goal or ambition (right now, or in the future)?
Right now, I want to be a voice for the youth in my community, to get better access to opportunities that others in metropolitan areas already have. In the future, I want to guide and teach youth and provide them with an education and care that everyone deserves.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax or have fun?
I enjoy socialising with my friends and spending time with my family. I love looking after and engaging with young children and assisting them to become amazing people.
