Kate Gardiner - Project Empower Logistics Coordinator

Kate knows the isolation of regional and remote Australia is often only a state of mind.

Kate joined C2C in 2022. Raised on a property near Cobar in New South Wales (NSW), Kate has lived in a range of places including outback Queensland, Perth, regional Victoria and metropolitan Sydney. These experiences have confirmed for Kate that, no matter how far apart, either large or small, each community is vital, connected, and has a lot to offer.

Kate has maintained a commitment to the interests and concerns of young people throughout her career working firstly as a Primary Teacher in regional NSW, and more recently while working in education and public programs in the museum sector in Sydney
and Canberra, and so she is thrilled to have the opportunity to support young women and non-binary people living in rural Australia to realise their potential. In addition to her role with C2C, Kate is developing a contemporary silversmithing project focused on botanical and geographical features of the rangelands of western NSW.

Kate has many years of volunteer experience in the Arts and Environment sectors, and she
holds a Bachelor of Teaching from the University of New England, and a Master of Arts
Administration from the University of Sydney.
