Merin Ward - Board Trainee
Merin grew up on the coast of regional Queensland in a small industry-based town called Gladstone. She was fortunate enough to participate in the Country to Canberra Power Trip in 2017. At the start of 2019, Merin moved down to Brisbane to study a dual Bachelors of Laws (Honours) and Arts (majoring in International Relations and Economics). She absolutely loved her time at the University of Queensland and will be graduating in June 2024. While studying, she has volunteered for the Young Achievers Program which aims to help Year 11 and 12 students from financially disadvantaged and culturally diverse backgrounds to attend university. Merin also works at a commercial Barristers’ Chambers where she recently presented on the prize pool differences between the men’s and women’s FIFA world cup, and the everyday inequality faced by women on the sporting club level. She’ll take any chance to talk about my love for the Matildas!
