Describe yourself in 80 words or less.
My name is Chloe Quillerat. I have a bubbly personality and love talking and meeting new people. I love pushing myself to do new things even if it’s outside my comfort zone and enjoy traveling and exploring new places and/or things!
How old are you, what grade are you in and what community/town do you live in?
I am 17 years old. I am in year 11 and currently attending Smithton High School. I live in quite a small town called Redpa, which is about 30 to 40 minutes from Smithton.
Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I had entered this competition as I wanted to push myself into trying new things and for the experiences I get to undertake. Women’s rights is a topic that is close to my heart as I have faced a few difficulties in my past. Because of this I feel that we should get the word out more about women’s rights.
What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip to Canberra?
I hope to become more confident in myself and push myself into doing things that I never thought I would do. I hope to meet new people and to gain more knowledge on women’s rights.
Who is your role model and why?
My role model would have to be my mum and best friend. They have both had bad experiences in their past, therefore they were able to tell me stories that I could strongly relate to.
What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
My favourite thing about living in a rural area would be the country lifestyle and how peaceful it is.
What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about hairdressing and beauty artistry because you are always learning and doing new things whilst meeting new people.
What’s your favourite quote?
Don’t downgrade your dream just to fit your reality. Upgrade your conviction to match your destiny!
What’s your main goal/ambition right now?
I would like to save for a new car, explore and study hair and beauty.
Tell us a couple of things you do to relax/have fun?
I enjoy hanging with friends and experimenting with hair and beauty products. When I am wanting to relax I generally explore on the beach whilst listening to music.
