Describe yourself in 80 words or less.
I’m an overly passionate, hardworking person who has an obsession with the colour yellow and the Harry Potter series. I like to call myself a self confessed economics nerd with a special passion for issues surrounding productivity in Australia. At home you’ll find me bullet journaling, writing econs notes or making origami. I have a passion for anything public speaking related including debate as well singing and acting. My favourite flowers are sunny sunny sunflowers!

How old are you, what grade are you in and what community/town do you live in?
Age: 17 (18 in a month)
Grade: 12
Town: Vasse
School: Cape Naturaliste College

Why did you enter Country to Canberra’s Leadership Competition?
I entered Country to Canberra in 2018 as I was a top 40 winner in 2017 and was encouraged to reapply this year. My school also had the opportunity to have a visit from Project Empower! A previous head girl of my school Ellecha had won Country to Canberra in 2015 and when I became head girl this year and found out Ellecha would be volunteering on the trip I knew I had to enter!

What do you hope to get out of the Power Trip to Canberra?
I hope this trip will give me an unbreakable bond with some likeminded powerful women and give me the boost I need to move into the next stage of my life as I graduate highschool and move into adulthood.

Who is your role model and why?
My role model is my amazing economics teacher! Over the last two years she’s supported me in ways that no one else ever has. She’s always been blunt and truthful with me and had absolute faith in my ability to achieve my goals. Her honest and down to earth nature is something to aspire to and her passion for her work should be mirrored by all.

What’s your favourite thing about living in rural Australia?
I’ve had a love/hate relationship with rural Australia, I’ve lived in 2 regional towns and 1 rural town throughout my 17, almost 18 years of life. One thing I cannot fault though is the strong sense of community that is found within every regional town, and although I have faced challenges living remotely I’ve become a more resilient and strong minded person through this experience.
