After being selected for Country to Canberra, I immediately knew that I had been granted an incredible opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in the field of gender equality. C2C On Screen exceeded my expectations, through providing me with not only knowledge in the field of equality, but knowledge in leadership, networking, mental health and career paths.

The program entailed a 2-day virtual workshop, focussing on leadership during Covid-19, gender equality, and getting to know the C2C participants. We also had the opportunity to hear from mentors, which I found very valuable, as it was amazing to learn from strong women who have succeeded and thrived in their careers. Hearing these incredible women provide insight into areas such as youth mental health, the environment and social change, has aided me in learning how to implement positive change, and effectively fight for the issues I am passionate about.

Growing up in a rural area has been incredible for exploring the outdoors, however, it has been difficult to learn how to implement the change I want to see in my community. C2C On Screen helped me learn how to harness my potential power to make a change, providing me with the rare opportunity to be guided by powerful women in each of their respective industries. Whilst on this amazing journey, I also had the privilege of virtually meeting the Country to Canberra participants, who I learnt a great deal from. These incredible women left me feeling very inspired and educated by the end of the 2-day workshop, helping me to realise how incredibly empowered young women are, and will continue to be.
